1. The Single Side Sensor ES3.0
Since December 2006 the single side sensor ES 3.0 has been approved by the German PTB (National Metrology Institute). Up to now more than 100 customers have decided to buy this new digital speed enforcement unit. Why?
Lane-specific measurements, calibrated distance indicator, measuring 4-lane-highways as well as areas with reduced speed, non-attentive measurement process, transferring images into the measurement vehicle in real time. Direct image- and case evaluation in the measurement vehicle….
The single side sensor ES3.0 with the dedicated camera unit FE3.0 monitors up to four lanes in one direction independently from daytime or weather conditions. The single side sensor ES3.0 can operate with two digital camera units FE3.0, therefore, traffic in both directions can be monitored with a single device and with only one officer. Simultaneous triggering of both camera units allows for documenting speeding motorcyclists as proof. The pictures of the number plate and the driver are displayed instantly on the touch-screen monitor and can be evaluated already in the vehicle using esoDigitales II.
Time-consuming initializing or arranging is no longer necessary; no road markings etc. are required. The single side sensor works fully automated is ready immediately and does not need traffic flow for calibration! Restrictions in aspects of location, e.g. tight curves, tunnels etc. do not apply either. The calibrated distance indicator in conjunction with the lane selection ensures a non-ambiguous case assignment in case of parallel rides, therefore, significantly more cases can be evaluated than using traditional technology!
The lens, which can be remote-controlled from the measurement vehicle, of the only 4.4 kg light and small digital camera unit FE3.0 offers maximum quality of the digital photos even in case of several lanes and wide roads. A simple touch of a button on the touch-screen monitor selects another lens setting. Vehicles are zoomed and pictures are transferred in real time to the measurement vehicle. This means best quality control of the measurement images already in the vehicle!
2. For the first time the eso company presented the new stationary speed enforcement unit , ES 3.0 ST, which is based on the successful mobile version single side sensor ES 3.0 to the visitor of the fair Intertraffic Amsterdam 2008. The ES 3.0 ST will consist of modular parts. Therefore the stationary unit will be customizing to each single measuring point. This allows that the requirements of the customers will be completely fulfilled.
The single side sensor ES 3.0 ST together with the camera unit FE 3.0 ST will monitor up to three lanes on day or night time in one direction. With a second camera it will be possible to monitor the oncoming traffic too. Like the mobile version the stationary ES 3.0 is equipped with a calibrated distance control. Due to this feature it is possible to evaluate concurrent journeys fast and justiciable.
The detector and the camera are easy to uninstall so the customer can use parts of the unit for a mobile speed check or can install the parts to another stationary location.
Because of the optical measuring principle compared to the loop measuring principle the eso company provides a wear less solution. That saves further expenses. The disadvantage of loop systems is the requirement to do maintenance every ½ year even for locations which are not in use.

An overview about the advantages*:
- Both traffic directions can be monitored at the same time
- Fully automated measuring with digital photo documentation
- 3 lanes can be documented with only one digital camera unit FE3.0 ST
- Optimized photo quality, i.e. excellent driver- and registration plate recognition
- No half-yearly maintenance required by law
- Device can be completely relocated
- Non-ambiguous assignment through lane selection and speed independent photo point
- Turn-off lanes and bus lanes can be excluded
- Data transmission in any way ,e.g. via radio, satellite or internet
- All measurement data and photos are secured by a public key. Therefore, only unmodified photographs and measurement files can be evaluated
- Evaluation of the data can be performed at any place
- ES3.0 works fully automated, the measuring application is easy and self-explanatory. Users operate via a touchscreen

3. Intelligent speed indicator PictoSpeed
PictoSpeed is an intelligent LED display with integrated Radar, traffic data memory and optional GSM modem for remote system configuration and data retrieval. It´s outstanding feature is the fully programmable display sequence built up from simple speed information and run text up to symbols and pictograms to emphasize reason for speed control. The symbol “playing children” for instance is giving a clear senseful information to drivers.
Up to 3 sequences can be defined and assigned to certain periods of a day, while additionally 3 “day types” can be assigned to calendar days. Therefore, an intelligent switching behavior depending on calendar day and day time can be achieved besides the basic speed adapted display of text and symbols.
This non- conventional speed display will increase the attraction of drivers and provide prompt reply to speeding drivers as well as a positive “thanks” to drivers with correct velocity; positive feedback is important in “traffic education”.

The TrafXS JOURNEY TIME system consists of at least two ANPR systems with video trigger, mounted at beginning and end of considered route. All licence plates are time/location stamped, coded for privacy reasons and transmitted via CAT´s integrated EasyCOM GPRS module to the IP-Server, where all data are processed and current journey time is evaluated. TrafXS JOURNEY TIME has proven its reliability while successful operating since many years on highways (Autobahn) and urban roads in Germany.

The TrafXS PARKING system consists of at least two ANPR systems with video trigger. Optional the images can be triggered by inductive loops or other already installed identification systems. All licence plates are time/location stamped and transferred to the IP-Server, where the data is further processed.
PlateMANAGER-PARKING is software for statistical evaluation (e.g. daytime dependent level of occupancy or the distribution of individual parking duration over a day/week) of a car park vehicles entry and exit records generated by the ANPR system.
The TrafXS-Parking system is also available as a mobile outdoor system (with integrated EasyCOM GPRS module and radar sensor for vehicle classification) for analysis of freeway parking lots amongst others.

The loop detector AVC 100 is a modular system for traffic flow evaluation/traffic count and vehicle categorization for storage, transfer and analysis of traffic data. The categorization of vehicles is realised by their speed, length and distance.
With AVC 100 it is possible to collect traffic data from up to eight lanes. The vehicle categorization can be expanded to an axle configuration by a simple integration of piezoelectric sensors. Different types of hard- and software are available, for example a version according TLS specifications.
The automatic data transfer to a control center is ensured with the aid of a sophisticated GSM/GPRS communication management (EasyCOM).

V-REX is the new state of the art ANPR system for mobile applications. It is a very compact and flexible system for automatic licence plate recognition (static or moving ANPR camera). One system, consisting of a portable case and a highly compact infrared camera module, can easily monitor 2 lanes whereas no additional trigger (e.g. laser, radar) is needed to capture licence plate numbers. V-REX is also suitable for semi-stationary assignments (roadside installation with camera on a tripod).
