Single-Side Sensor ES3.0

The mobile version covers several different usage scenarios. The single-side sensor ES3.0 works completely automated, eliminating handling mistakes. The single-side sensor ES3.0 can be built into nearly every car from the station wagon class, no special windows are required. The non-attentive operation enables the officer to evaluate case data in the vehicle while at the same time more vehicles are measured and photographed. The components are robust, small and lightweight. Wrong measurement data as a result of a wrong setup of the components is absolutely impossible. A certified signature ensures the case data has not been tampered with. The single-side sensor ES3.0 is a passive system and therefore can not be localized by radar warning devices; to measure both incoming and receding traffic, you can connect two cameras to one ES3.0, no additional sensor head is required. This allows for easy and costeffective measurement of both traffic directions.

Oprimal measurement of motor bikes, cars and trucks; up to four lanes; certified distance, both directions...

Lane selective measuring, certified distance measurement, suitable for measuring at any location from 4 lane highways to areas with reduced speed, non-attentive measurement operation, pictures transmitted into the measurement vehicle in real-time, picture and case evaluation in the vehicle... what sounded like distant future a short time ago is today's reality: the single-side sensor ES3.0, the fully digital speed measurement process, sets the standard in the traffic enforcement industry.

Complicated calibration or setup is not necessary, no road markings etc. are required. The single-side sensor works fully automated, is ready for operation instantly, and does not require vehicles for calibration. No limitations in terms of the measurement location, e.g. curves, tunnels etc. The certified distance measurement and the lane selective measurement allow for legally robust case evaluation even if several cars drive next to each other on several lanes. This means significantly more evaluated cases!

The single-side sensor can be used universally, can be set up far apart from the road and allows for inconspicious traffic enforcement. The remote-controlled lens system of the camera unit FE3.0, weighing just 4.4kg, ensures best quality of the digital photos. Even when the camera is set up in high distance from the road or when several wide lanes are to be monitored, excellent picture quality is ensured.

All eso measurement devices can be used in a non-attentive manner in curves, in complex traffic situations, on construction sites and in tunnels. For mounting into vehicles, no expensive and hard-to-get clear glass windows are required.

Convincing and legally robust quality

The new efficient speed measurement technology works independently from weather conditions, day- or nighttime and traffic density. It measures both incoming and receding vehicles at the same time with only one measurement device.

The digital signature of the measured data ensures legal robustness in court. Certified by the German Physikalish-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the encryption prevents manipulation and unauthorized access of case data.

Every record contains all relevant information. One photo is sufficent for recognizing both driver and registration plate easily. Among the digitally recorded data are the distance between sensor and vehicle, witness information, local time and additional measurement data.

The single-side sensor ES3.0 has been approved by the PTB in December 2006.

The main advantages

  • Motorbikes, scooters, cars and trucks can be measured and documented with legal robustness
  • Simultaneous triggering of the forward- and rear view camera allow fining riders
  • Fixed photo point: All vehicles are photographed at the same location
  • Pictures are transmitted into the measurement vehicle in real-time
  • Incoming and receding traffic can be measured simultaneously and with only one officer present. No second sensor head or operation device is required.
  • No attentive measurement required
  • Hassle-free measuring in curves, on construction sites, in high-peak traffic and on complex sites
  • Can be used in for all streets, e.g. in areas with reduced speed, on highways, motorways, in the city or in the countryside
  • Cars driving next to each other can be evaluated with legal robustness
  • Sofortige Speicherung von bis zu 80.000 Messungen auf der Rechnereinheit RE3.0
  • Up to four lanes can be measured and documented for use in court
  • No road markings required for measurement
  • Lens system with four zoom levels. Simply pressing a button on the touch screen monitor changes between the levels remotely.
  • The camera system can be turned in the horizontal direction from the measurement vehicle
  • Certified distance measurement - more cases can be evaluated than with former technology
  • The sensor is ready for use instantly and does not require vehicles for calibration
  • Digital case data and pictures can be evaluated in the measurement vehicle using esoDigitales II [Link to esoDigitales II]
  • Only one camera system is required for one traffic direction
  • A certified electronic signature prevents manipulation of case data
  • Passive device, can not be detected or jammed by warning devices
  • Day and night mode
  • Measuring across crash barriers
  • Hidden measurement is possible, coomponents can be set up far beside the road
  • No crossing of the road is required. Components can be set up on one side of the road. Photos can be taken through the measured vehicle's side window.
  • A wireless LAN radio camera can be used
  • All pictures and data is saved on the harddisk of the computing unit

Scenarios

In curves

For decades eso traffic enforcement devices have proven reliable in curves, on hills and in complex traffic situations. The ES3.0 is no different from this philosophy.

On construction sites

Measuring across crash barriers. The small measurement base of 0.5 m allows an exact measurement near construction sites.

Motor bikers, scooter drivers etc.

Legally robust - simultaneous triggering of front and rear camera allows for taking a registration plate and a driver picture.

Parallel driving cars

Where earlier systems failed, the single-side sensor ES3.0 can give you the evidence. Even if several vehicles drive next to each other on multiple lanes, the speeding car can be precisely determined.

In tunnels

The single-side sensor ES3.0 is a passive device. It does not emit anything and therefore can not be detected. No bent ray reflexions can occur with this device.

Speeding vehicles not keeping the minimum distance

The measurement is done from the side of the road. This ensures that even drivers ignoring minimum distance can be safely determined and convicted.

Scenarios

All from one side. Hidden measurement. The fixed photo point allows for photographing through the measured vehicle's side window.

Each camera unit can be used for e.g. measuring one lane.

An additional camera unit can be used for documenting incoming and receding traffic. Only one sensor is required. This allows for very effective and costeffective measuring of both traffic directions.
